Iguanas and Hurricane Elsa   1 comment

All of a sudden there seems to have been an explosion of Iguanas around. The thing is they are so well camouflaged you are almost on top of them before you know they are there! (Except for the 2-3 babies I have seen who are too fast running away to get a picture of!) These two didn’t put their head up until I stepped on a branch alerting them I was around. As long as I didn’t get too close they continued eating until they felt I was a danger to them and then they ran, very quickly, to the nearest tree and climbed it as fast as they could!

They really are fascinating to watch and so far they don’t seem to do any harm to humans and/or animals but I binged the following https://thepetfaq.com/are-iguanas-dangerous/ so if you want more information here you go!

Regarding Hurricane Elsa—right now we are having sunny, hot, humid weather with what looks like rain clouds starting to drift in. Most weather reports have Elsa missing us here in South Florida but not sure about North Florida. Here is the latest report: https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/fort-lauderdale/33301/tropical-weather-forecast/328168?eventkey=al052021
Will keep you up to date!

  1. That’s so cool! I’ve never had a visiting iguana. They like rotting fruit in case you want to give them a little treat.
